Painted Dog Research Trust (PDRT) is a Zimbabwe-based non-profit organization that focuses on protecting the highly endangered sepcies, African painted dog. PDRT is proposing to build a campus in Hwange, in the northwestern area of Zimbabwe, to incorporate Zimbabwean graduate students to build local capacity and tomorrow's conservationists.

The campus is based just outside Victoria falls and situated in a landscape mosaic of National parks, forestry, private safari area, and communal lands where it is intended stakeholder benefits will accrue. This studio focuses on incorporating affordable, scalable, and sustainable techniques to create a self-sufficient campus that could host over 100 people in the long term. This proposal takes a common form of wetlands in Zimbabwe and integrates it with local plants to perform ecological functions such as water infiltration, conduction, and storage. The design also embodies a goal to engage and support more women in the local community.
